Community Media
TVCM is a collection of activity by community groups and individuals which has now taken place over a number of years starting with the ERDF funded project Tees Valley Communities Online. The activity has ebbed and flowed through several funding streams and has moved and developed along with technology advances.
Community Media gives individuals and community groups a “voice” they might not otherwise have had, a means to express culture, creativity and heritage through digital technologies. The developments you see here are extremely sustainable as they are supported by open source software, applications developed at the University of Teesside and other free or inexpensive solutions. We have shaped open source software to match the needs and demands of each community group and they in turn take ownership of their own content creation. Click here for an example Learning Program
